She listens to She Keeps Bees
Taken at She Keeps Bees concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam. A musical discovery of the year so far for me. Some more photos (of the band self) are on my Flickr.

Recently, I posted a small article on TEDxAmsterdam, on how inspiring and motivating the event was. Today, more than a week later, I still feel the motivation and drive to implement the ideas which I had in my head for long time. We had Kaiser Chiefs here and now we also have here their buddies: The Pigeon Detectives.
Kaiser Chief’s lead singer, Ricky Wilson, is about to dive into the audience.
The exercise is as follows:
- OMG he is going to dive!
- Switch on the camera, get the settings right…
- OMG he is diving in!
- OMG my girlfriend is touching him!! :}
- Give him a shove
- And yeah, try to take a picture in mean time…
Time to complete: five seconds. (Some more photographs inside)
After I was introduced to their music by a friend, I somehow kept returning to its cold prettyness (or a warm chillness?) – it did not allow me to stay away for too long. Later on, when the second album came out, I already took a break from work to get the album right at the release date. Their magical, introspective yet sunny and playful music was sending shivers down my spine then and it still does now. The last weekend they showed up in Amsterdam for the very first time and I was lucky to be there: Husky Rescue.
I admit, I didn’t know their music very well. In fact, I hardly new a song or two from their first album, and got to listen to their new album “Our Earthly Pleasures” just a copule of days before the concert. So I headed to Melkweg on Thursday night as a blank page, as an undercover stranger to mingle amogst the dedicated fans. MaxĂŻmo Park @ Melkweg in Amsterdam.
I bicycled past it countless number of times. I picknicked on a nearby cannal bank a few times. But I’ve never been actually inside before: Het Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ
